Nearly twelve months of hard work was realised last night at the 2015 Amara Interior Blog Awards, taking place at the spectacular Ham Yard Hotel in Soho. Shortlisted bloggers, sponsors, judges and the Amara Team gathered together to celebrate the best of the best in the interior blogging industry for a night even more dazzling than the previous year. With nearly 200 people in attendance, when guests arrived they were escorted down through the hotel where they were able to get a glimpse at the SoHolistic spa before entering the Dive Bar – our home for the evening.
Adorned with signature Rik Rack fabric wallpaper with bold zigzags running vertically down the walls, the Dive Bar is so named in honour of the 3ft neon lady diver diving elegantly from the balcony above. Guests were greeted with a selection of cocktails on arrival followed swiftly by the first round of canapés including slow roasted pork belly chili Vietnamese rice paper rolls and chargrilled steak with béarnaise sauce. After the bloggers, sponsors and judges had had time to catch up and put faces to the blogs, it was time for the main event and everyone was welcomed into the Ham Yard Theatre.
With plush orange leather seats, pink taffeta curtains and walls of electric blue wool, the cinema was the perfect venue for an awards ceremony dedicated to interior design and from all the comments we have been getting, the guests were suitably impressed. Amara’s co-founder Sam Hood took to the stage first to introduce the awards and to welcome Sophie Robinson – our compere for the evening. Sophie delighted the attendees with her fun and light-hearted hosting which put the bloggers at ease but still built tension when it came for the winners to be announced.
On the judging day our panel of judges chose a highly commended blog for the majority of categories along with a winner. Sophie announced the highly commended blogs first whilst the winners’ names were sealed in a golden envelope creating even more tension in the room as she opened each one. Before long we had sixteen bloggers crowned as this year’s winners and throughout the ceremony we witnessed yelps, squeals and a few tears of joy as Sophie made her announcements.
After the awards the final part of the evening could commence which included even more celebrations and dessert canapés of which the most popular by far was the salted caramel popping candy chocolate pops. The step and repeat board also saw loads of action as all the winners were photographed with their awards and then anyone that wanted a professional photo taken by the night’s dedicated photographer John Nassari were able to do so. Before we knew it the night was drawing to a close and our fabulous guests started to make their way back to the main Ham Yard Hotel bar, but not before they were presented with an exclusive goody bag filled with items from Missoni Home, Mulberry Home, Anorak, Seletti, Farrow & Ball, Christian Lacroix and many many more.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank all of our sponsors and judges for being a part of this year’s awards and of course to all of the amazing blogs nominated for their endless support, interaction and participation in the Amara Interior Blog Awards! You can see this year’s fabulous winners on our 2015 winners page here.
