Terms and Conditions of Entry

  1. The Awards Organiser

    The awards organiser is Amara Living Limited(Company number: 05348182) of Unit 4 Concord Farm, School Road, Braintree, Essex, CM77 6SP (“Amara”).
  2. The Awards

    2.1 The title of the awards ceremony is The Amara Interior Blog Awards 2019 (“Awards”).

2.2 The Awards celebrate and engage with the most authoritative and respected bloggers in the vast interior blogging industry. Believing that bloggers are an integral part of the interior design community, Amara has worked closely with many of these talented individuals over the years and strive to give back to this vibrant community through the Awards. A concept first introduced in 2013, the Awards include a series of phases throughout a three month period from nominations & voting, to shortlisting, and the project culminates in an annual awards ceremony attended by the shortlisted bloggers, sponsors and judges.

  1. Eligibility

    3.1 Nominations will be accepted from an individual, a team of individuals or a limited entity, except:

3.1.1 employees of Amara;
3.1.2 agents of Amara, who are professionally connected with the Awards or their administration (for the avoidance of doubt nominations from suppliers of Amara will be accepted); or
3.1.3 members of the immediate families or households of 3.1.1 and 3.1.2 above.

3.2 It is a condition of entry that all the rules stated herein are accepted as final and that a nominee agrees to abide by these rules. Submission of any entry will be taken to mean acceptance of these terms and conditions. By providing a nomination, you confirm that you are eligible to do so and that you or the person you nominate are eligible to be a nominee. Amara may require you or a nominee to provide proof that you or they are eligible.

3.3 Where a nominee is a team, the team must nominate a representative and at the time of entry must identify to Amara the name and contact details of a nominated representative and a deputy representative as a reserve in the event the nominated representative leaves the team or is for any reason unavailable.

3.4 A blog must be live at the time of nomination. All blogs and blog posts must be written in English for the judges to be able to determine writing quality.

3.5 Blogs can be nominated more than once and into more than one category. However, those nominated in more than one category will only appear in the category they receive the most nominations for.

3.6 Amara will not accept nominations of blogs/Instagram accounts that are:

3.6.1 automatically generated by a computer;
3.6.2 completed by third parties;
3.6.3 illegible, have been altered, reconstructed, forged or tampered with;
3.6.4 not original work of the blog owner/editors; or
3.6.5 incomplete.

3.7 Amara reserves all rights to disqualify a nominee. Without prejudice to the generality of this clause 3.7, Amara will disqualify a nominee if any blog, blog posts or any social media post created by a nominee or anyone associated with that nominee:

3.7.1 is deemed in Amara’s absolute discretion as discriminatory, including but not limited to any discrimination relating to a protected characteristic as defined in the Equality Act 2010 as amended from time to time; or
3.7.2 is deemed in Amara’s absolute discretion as intimidating, hostile, degrading and/or humiliating towards any individual; or
3.7.3 is deemed in Amara’s absolute discretion as damaging to Amara’s reputation.

  1. Categories

    4.1 There are eleven (11) award categories in 2 global territories: UK and International. Entrants will be categorised into a territory group first according to their location, and then placed in the following categories under their territory grouping:
    4.1.1 Best Company Blog
    4.1.2 Best Creative Skill
    4.1.3 Best Design Inspiration Blog
    4.1.5 Best Interior Designer Blog
    4.1.7 Best Interior Lifestyle Blog
    4.1.8 Best Newcomer

4.1.9 Best Home Styling
4.1.10 Best Photography Blog
4.1.11 Best Written Blog

4.1.12 Best Instagram
4.1.13 Bloggers’ Choice

4.2 The category judging criteria can be found here: https://www.interiorblogawards.com/2019-judging-criteria/. Entrants will be judged on these category guidelines.

4.3 Nominees will be placed in territories based on a nominee’s country of residence as follows:

4.3.1 A nominee residing in the UK shall be placed in the UK territory group; or
4.3.3 A nominee residing outside the UK shall be placed in the International territory group.

4.4 Amara reserves the right to move any nominee into what it deems in its absolute discretion to be the correct territory group or category if Amara believes at any time that a nominee is in the wrong territory group or category.

  1. How to enter a nomination and voting on a nomination

    5.1 Each blog only needs to be nominated ONCE to get through to the voting stage of the Awards.

5.2 Nominations are open from 10am on 3rd July 2019 (the “Opening Date”) and close at 5pm on 31 July 2019 (the “Closing Date”) inclusive.

5.3 All nominations must be received by Amara no later than the Closing Date. All nominations received after the Closing Date cannot and will not be considered.

5.4 To enter a nomination send a completed nomination form, which can be found at https://www.interiorblogawards.com/nominate by the Closing Date.

5.5 Amara will not accept:

5.5.1 responsibility for nominations that are lost, mislaid, damaged or delayed in transit, regardless of cause, including, for example, as a result of any postal failure, equipment failure, technical malfunction, systems, satellite, network, server, computer hardware or software failure of any kind; and
5.5.2 proof of posting or transmission as proof of receipt of entry of a nomination.

5.6 Voting on the nominations validly received by Amara opens on 15 August 2019 at 10am and closes on 19 September 2019 at 12pm. You can vote by visiting each nominee’s dedicated profile page and clicking the “vote” mechanism. Only one vote will be accepted for each blog per email address.

5.7 During the voting stage, nominees shall adhere to the Blogger Voting Guidelines published by Amara.

5.9 Amara shall announce the shortlist in each category on 26 September 2019 at 12pm.

6. Voting Incentive Competition

6.1 The Voting Incentive Competition (“Competition”) commences on 29th July 2019 at 10am and concludes on 4th September 2019 at 12pm.

6.2 Nominees may incentivise others to vote for their blog, but only through Amara’s verified voting competition.

6.3 The competition prize is a Leica camera that will be supplied by the prize giver, Leica, and sent by the Amara team. If this prize is not available, an appropriate substitution will be made. Save as aforementioned, the prize is not negotiable or transferable.

6.4 To enter the Competition, a participant must submit one vote for one of the blogs nominated for an award. The vote must be submitted to Amara using the voting profiles form on interiorblogawards.com. Submitting a voting profiles form is the only valid way of entering the competition. Any votes will be automatically disqualified from the Competition if received by Amara after 12pm on 4th September 2019.

6.5 Amara will not accept:

6.5.1 responsibility for competition entries that are lost, mislaid, damaged or delayed in transit, regardless of cause, including, for example, as a result of any equipment failure, technical malfunction, systems, satellite, network, server, computer hardware or software failure of any kind; or
6.5.2 proof of posting or transmission as proof of receipt of entry to the Competition.

6.6 By submitting a vote, you are agreeing to be bound by the terms and conditions contained in this clause 6.

6.7 Amara reserves all rights to disqualify a competition entrant if it deems in its absolute discretion that the entrant’s conduct is contrary to the spirit or intention of the Competition.

6.8 The competition is only open to those who are aged 18 years or over. The following restrictions and rules also apply:

6.8.1 each vote constitutes one competition entry;
6.8.2 a prospective competition entrant may only cast one vote per blog.

6.9 The winner of the voting competition will be selected by Amara at random on 26th September.

6.10 The winner of the prize will have 28 days from the date Amara first contacts him or her to inform that individual that he or she has won the prize, to claim it. A winner’s claim to the prize will become invalid if he or she does not claim the prize within the timescale stated in this paragraph.

6.11 Amara need only make reasonable efforts to contact the winner. Amara does not accept any responsibility if an individual fails to take up the prize.

6.12 Amara reserves the right to hold, void, suspend, cancel or amend the competition (including the prize) where it deems it necessary to do so.

  1. Judging Process and Public Vote

7.1 All the blogs in every category will be judged by a dedicated judge or judges selected at the sole discretion of Amara. The winner will be determined with consideration of the outcome of the judges’ vote and the votes received for each blog from the public, with the judges’ vote having 50% weighting and the public votes having 50% weighting. The outcome as announced at the Awards ceremony will be final, no correspondence will be entered into.

    8.1 The winner of each award will be announced at the Awards ceremony.

8.2 The attendees of the Awards ceremony are by invitation only.

  1. Ownership of competition entries and intellectual property rights

    9.1 Amara does not claim any rights of ownership in a nomination or blog.

9.2 It is the responsibility of each nominee to obtain their own legal advice in relation to copyright, patent, design and any other intellectual property rights relating to their nomination and entry relating to the Awards.

9.3 Copyright and all other intellectual property rights in all entries submitted remains with the respective nominees or their organisation, as applicable. However, each nominee and/or organisation grants a worldwide, irrevocable, perpetual licence to Amara to feature any or all of the submitted entries in any of their publications, their website(s) and/or in any promotional material connected to the Awards. Nominees and organisations will not receive remittance for such publication, though their work will be credited.

9.4 Nominees are on notice that:

9.4.1 the Awards procedure is not confidential;
9.4.2 making a nomination and/or participating in the Awards process may preclude the entrant from applying for a patent or other intellectual property right protection; and
9.4.3 Amara accept no responsibility for protecting the nominee’s blog from disclosure, copying or infringement.

9.5 It is the responsibility of each nominee to ensure that their entry does not infringe the copyright or any other intellectual property rights of any third party or breach any laws relating to intellectual property. Nominees shall indemnify Amara against all liabilities, costs, expenses, damages and losses (including but not limited to any direct, indirect or consequential losses, loss of profit, loss of reputation and all interest, penalties and legal costs (calculated on a full indemnity basis) and all other reasonable professional costs and expenses) suffered or incurred by Amara arising out of or in connection with any infringement and/or alleged infringement of any intellectual property rights of a third party and/or breach any laws relating to intellectual property, except where such infringement and/or alleged infringement and/or breach of intellectual property law is caused by an act of Amara.

  1. Limitation of liability

    10.1 Insofar as is permitted by law, Amara, its agents or employees will not in any circumstances be responsible or liable to compensate the winner or accept any liability for any loss, damage, personal injury or death occurring as a result of the awards process except where it is caused by the negligence of Amara, its agents or distributors or that of their employees. Your statutory rights are not affected.
  2. General

    11.1 If there is any reason to believe that there has been a breach of these terms and conditions, Amara may, at its sole discretion, reserve the right to exclude you from any and all parts of the Awards process.

11.2 Amara reserves the right to hold void, suspend, cancel, or amend these terms and conditions where it becomes necessary to do so.

11.3 Amara reserves the right to cancel any category or the Awards itself where, in its sole opinion, the calibre or quantity of entries is insufficient.

11.4 The winner will be required to take part in reasonable publicity on behalf of Amara.

11.5 Events may occur that render the Awards itself impossible due to reasons beyond the control of Amara and accordingly, Amara may at its absolute discretion vary, amend or waive these rules and the nominee agrees that no liability shall attach to Amara as a result thereof.

11.6 These terms and conditions shall be governed by English law, and the parties submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
