Job Title: Founder

What does your IBA job role entail?
A ‘jack of all trades’ role is probably the best way to describe what I do within the IBA team. From planning the entire campaign through utilising ideas and feedback gained from previous years, to ensuring that nothing is left out and making sure that everything is where it should be.

What are you most looking forward to for IBA19?
One of my favourite parts of the blog awards every year is reading all of the brand new interior blogs that I’ve never seen before. The community has such a strong family feel and its great to get the bloggers meeting up and chatting all things interiors.

What’s your top blogging tip?
Grow your email list! They will be your biggest fans, they will be your most passionate readers, start early and don’t worry if it’s slow to grow. It will be worth it in the long run!

Job Title: PR & Brand Communications

What does your IBA job role entail?
My role for the IBAs is to ensure the whole event runs smoothly throughout the year as well as engaging great brands to be involved, planning any blogger events and partnerships and of course the big night itself!

What are you most looking forward to for IBA19?
There are lots of exciting stages over the year and I love seeing all the amazing bloggers that get involved both new and old and it is my chance to catch up with them all but the buzz on awards night is always amazing and very special!

What’s your top blogging tip?
I am not a blogger and don’t profess to know a lot but I do think your blog should be a reflection of your character and ultimately you as a brand as well as being consistently true to yourself.

Job Title: Blogger Communications

What does your IBA job role entail?
I help coordinate the communications for the awards and I’ll be there on the big night, helping everything to run smoothly.

What are you most looking forward to for IBA19?
I am really looking forward to meeting our next top interior bloggers all face-to-face at the awards night.

What’s your top blogging tip?
My blogging tip would be: enjoy what you do. You can optimise your site for google, get loads of followers, views and brand deals – but it means nothing if you don’t love what you write about, because your readers will appreciate that much more.

Take a read of Marie’s site structure tips on the IBA Blog.

Grace

Job Title: Creative Design Manager

What does your IBA job role entail?
I’m the creator of all the graphics, print work and digital communications. From branding the event way back in 2014 to developing the design into the wonderful campaign we have today!

What are you most looking forward to for IBA19?
I can’t wait to meet all of the creators behind each blog that we have the pleasure of working with – The awards ceremony itself will certainly be a highlight; a celebration of all the incredible talent within our glorious blogging community!

What’s your top blogging tip?
Be consistent – Not only is it crucial to have consistency with your posting habits, design and tone but also how you portray yourself and what you believe in. Nail this and you’ll be well on your way to developing solid branding which is reflective of yourself and your passions.

Job Title: IBA Ambassador

What does your IBA job role entail?
As an ambassador I am supporting both the team and entrants of the IBAs. Being a lifestyle and interiors blogger myself, who also entered the awards before joining Amara, I know how it feels to be on both sides of the event and how important it is for content creators and influencers to get the recognition they deserve. I have a generalist role that looks at coordinating communications, technical tasks and hands-on help whenever required.

What are you most looking forward to for IBA19?
I am looking forward to seeing and speaking to those who have inspired me for so many years and absolutely can’t wait to discover new blogs as well.

What’s your top blogging tip?
Keep up with Google’s requirements. There’s a massive focus on mobile and, as a result, site speed so I’ve written a step by step guide to help you improve your blog’s speed over on the IBA Blog.

Becie

Job Title: Content Editor

What does your IBA job role entail?
I write all the copy for the IBAs, which includes the website copy, newsletters and the stationery for the awards ceremony. I’m also the editor of the IBA Blog where you can find expert tips on how to make your blog more successful, interviews from bloggers and the latest awards updates.

What are you most looking forward to for IBA19?
This is my first year working on the IBAs and I’ve heard great things about the awards ceremony so that will really be a highlight for me. After months of planning, it will be so nice to finally put faces to names and celebrate the top bloggers in the industry.

What’s your top blogging tip?
Be consistent with your posting schedule. It doesn’t matter whether it’s daily, weekly, monthly or anywhere in between, just stick to it and allow your readers to familiarise themselves with when you post. And don’t forget to plan ahead! A clear and decisive content calendar will help you organise your content for future posts.

Job Title: Email Content Designer

What does your IBA job role entail?
I create and design all the emails for the IBAs making sure our subscribers get all the information we want them to know, from when nominations open to when a top Blogger is doing a Twitter takeover!

What are you most looking forward to for IBA19?
I’m just really looking forward to seeing all the different blogs and what all the newcomers will bring to the table.

What’s your top blogging tip?
As I don’t blog myself, I don’t have anything in particular I can give as a top tip. But for me seeing a blog that has a really consistent style and strong imagery or graphics really makes them memorable and makes me want to keep up to date with what they’re doing.

I try and get as much exposure for Amara as possible by talking to a mixture of interior and lifestyle press and social media influencers and bloggers.

What are you most looking forward to for IBA19?
Catching up with all our lovely press and social media contacts.  It’s always a great excuse for a good catch up over a glass of bubbles!
