The IBAs might be over for another year but there’s one more event we look forward to once the awards ceremony has drawn to a close. We host our annual winners’ event to gather together the winning bloggers one last time to celebrate their awards. This year’s winners’ event was hosted by IBA19 sponsor Tom Dixon at their Coal Shed studio and restaurant near King’s Cross.
Joining us at the lunch was Paula from Film & Furniture, Rachel and Claire from Rachel Usher Design, Maxine from We Love Home, Emma & Robyn from All Up in My Space, Hayley from I am Hayley Stuart and Julia from Humphrey & Grace. Meeting in the restaurant, everyone was greeted by a glass of prosecco and a sneak peek at Chef Assaf Granit’s menu we’d be treated to during our afternoon.
After a quick catch up, we took our seats and the feasting could commence. Kubalah and manakish-Za’atar bread was joined by chickpea msabbaha, machneyuda’s polenta and josperized aubergine to start. For the main course we were treated to shikshukit 2.0 beef and lamb kebabs and freekeh hamusta, followed by a Coal Office dessert platter.
One of the best things about the Coal Office location is the ground floor which houses the Tom Dixon studio. Stocked full with all of the designer’s sought-after homeware from his statement lighting, to sumptuous home fragrance. After we’d eaten every last morsel of our meal it was time to head down for a quick peruse of the designer’s latest releases before saying our goodbyes.
