Luxury candle maker Max Benjamin has joined the IBA17 team and are sponsoring the Best Written Blog award, one of this year’s special additional awards. Launching two new exquisitely scented collections in 2017, the IBA Blog takes a look at the Max Benjamon Elysium and Ilum home fragrance collections…
The enchanting Eysium collection features three dreamy new fragrances which evoke an enchanting journey to a perfect wonderland. Originating from Greek mythology the word Elysium is defined as ‘the state of perfect happiness, a paradise’ and these luxurious new fragrances create just that. Available in candles, diffusers and scented cards, the three fragrances are:
Impressions of Love
A romantic floral fragrance with top notes of angelica, heart of tuberose and a base of amber with woody notes.
This oriental, fruity fragrance has top notes of Coconut and Melon and a heart of Roeberry, Honey, Blackberry and Plum. Base notes are Patchouli, Dark Chocolate, Toffee and Vanilla.
Escape to Wonderland
An aromatic, spicy fragrance with Yellow Mandarine, Cardamom and Elemi top notes. The heart of this fragrance is Cary Sage, Patchouli, Nutmeg and Coffee and base notes are Tonka Bean, Vanilla and Amberwood.
Each candle and diffuser includes opulent packaging featuring gold, black and floral designs which creates a very luxurious, sophisticated gift collection.
The Ilum collection is a beautiful collection of fine porcelain scented candles and diffusers, the designs and fragrances of which are influenced by the brand’s creators’ Belgian family heritage. Brothers Mark & David Van den Bergh created Max Benjamin, Ireland’s most successful candle range. Their father Hugo moved to Ireland from Belgium 70 years ago and the family has now created an exclusive range of porcelain candles and diffusers reflecting this history.
Ilum hand crafted porcelain vases feature geometric patterns in combinations of dark teal tones contrasted with grey and gold foil. The design influences come from tapestries, tiled flooring, carvings on dark oak cabinets and wallpapers in their grandfather’s old house near Antwerp.
‘Each geometric pattern on the porcelain vases is influenced by Belgian design and the candles inside are hand poured in our studios in Ireland where we have been producing since 1994. Ilum is a take on the word illuminate, the original latin meaning is to light and decorate. These pieces are about fragrance meeting design and are gorgeous interior decoration as well as bespoke fragrances. They are permanent accessories for your home and the timeless geometric patterns will work in many different spaces’ says Mark Van den Bergh.
The luxurious Ilum range features four fragrances – Cologne Retro, Belgravia Lux, Fig Arabesque and Or Egyptien. Shop the exquisitely scented Elysium and Ilum collections at Amara now.
