Preparation for the night…

  • It took 11months to prepare for the awards night with the 2015 preparation starting almost instantly after the 2014 awards finished
  • The IBA Team had weekly meetings during the eleven months of planning to ensure everything was always running smoothly and to throw ideas around
  • Six members of the Amara Team were needed to pack almost 200 goody bags a few days before the event
  • The value of this year’s winners’ goody bags reached £264
  • 25 exclusive brands supported the 2015 awards including those that generously gave items for the goody bags and of course our lovely sponsors
  • The most difficult decision of the awards planning was surprisingly picking a song for the winner to walk up to the stage too, with one enthusiastic team member pushing for Celebration by Kool& the Gang (quickly shot down by everyone else!), before finally settling on Uptown Funk by Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars

Blogs…

  • 589 bloggers were nominated for the 2015 awards
  • 33,000 votes were cast to narrow the blogs down to just 5 per category for the shortlists
  • The furthest nominated blog was Styled Canvas from Auckland, New Zealand
  • The category with the most nominations was the Best US Blog Award category
  • Whilst the Best Newcomer Award category received the most votes in the voting stage overall
