If you’re a blogger, whether full or part time, do you frequently find yourself unable to concentrate working at home? At the IBAs we wax lyrical about the importance of a distinct space in your home to blog from to help hone concentration and attempt to draw a strict line between ‘work’ and ‘home’. Our monthly Top Office Spaces posts aim to inspire bloggers to create themselves a creative haven away from everyday life in their home and here are our favourite images from July…
Wonderfully airy and light, this office expertly blends delicate design with the starkness of brick which we quite simply can’t get enough of. The soft pops of pink are perfectly on-trend and the small size of the desk means it can be squeezed into most sized rooms but the overall look still screams chic.
A fabulous mix of rustic and industrial design, this office is another perfect example of fitting your home office around your daily life if you can’t dedicate an entire room to it. Tucked away in a corner of the lounge, this home office space would be wonderful to work from and due to facing the wall will help to minimise distractions in the room, but the design is still in keeping with the overall look of the room to not ruin the interior design.
Taken from one of Boscolo’s projects at Marlborough Mansions, this office caught our eye with its dramatic dark colour scheme. Full of blacks and dark taupes, it is a striking office space and it would certainly differentiate the space from the rest of your home. Surprisingly serene, it could be the calming yet statement space to ignite your creativity.
It’s no secret that we love a garden office at the IBAs. The perfect compromise if you simply don’t have enough space in your home but want a room solely for working, garden offices can be created from existing garden sheds or summer houses, or are a much cheaper option to build than a home extension to house an office. This particular example is full of much needed light thanks to the sky lights and the large doors make summer working a particular treat.
A timeless colour scheme, black and gold can be both glamorous and fun. A fabulous choice for an office which you want to be both concentration inducing and creative, this office has the perfect mix of stylish finishes and personal touches. The blog post we found this image in is also a tutorial for the fringed photo bunting which is fantastic for displaying your favourite and most inspirational images.
