The #IBA16 Awards Ceremony

After eleven months of planning the third Amara Interior Blog Awards came to a head on Thursday night with the sparkling awards ceremony held at Ham Yard Hotel. The night was attended by shortlisted bloggers, sponsors and judges and was the perfect end to the most successful Interior Blog Awards campaign so far and thirteen more winning blogs were crowned as the best in their specific areas of the vibrant interiors industry.

Designed to celebrate and give back to the ever-growing interior blogging community, the Amara Interior Blog Awards strive each year to seek out the best blogs in the business and to encourage new emerging talent to thrive along the way. The four month long 2016 campaign consisted of weeks of nominations then voting which resulted in a sixty five blog shortlist that was put before the judging panel on the judging day in September. The judges then had the immensely difficult task of choosing the winners from an already outstanding line up.

Social media had been abuzz with excited comments, pictures and videos before the event and the IBA team were equally excited for the action to begin on the big night itself. Three cocktails were chosen for guests to enjoy on the evening including French 55s, Mojitos and headline sponsor LSA International’s anniversary Zero cocktail served in the brand’s signature long-stemmed glasses which went down a storm. New to this year’s awards ceremony was a live stream crew who expertly filmed the event and broadcasted the night to those that couldn’t be there.

Once everyone had arrived, caught up with old friends and met a few new ones it was time for us all to take our seats for the ceremony which was held in Ham Yard’s already iconic theatre complete with blue velvet walls and plush orange leather seats. Top interior designer and TV presenter Sophie Robinson of The Great Interior Design Challenge fame returned for the second year as host and again won the audience over with her own unique wit and charm. Before long the best bloggers of the year had been announced and Kimberly Duran was awarded the top gong of the night in the form of the Bloggers’ Choice Award for her blog Swoon Worthy.

As always there was raucous applause when the awards were given out and many winners were overcome with emotion upon hearing that all of their hard work in the past year had earned them one of the expertly made Cutture trophies. After the ceremony drew to a close the guests returned to the neon light filled Dive bar to carry on the party. The evening finished with dessert canapés and more celebrations before it was time to head home but not before everyone got their hands on the luxury IBA goody bags and the even bigger winners’ goody bags.

The IBA team would like to say a huge thank you to everyone that made the awards evening such a success including the sponsors, goody bag donators, judges and of course the bloggers themselves, we hope you all had as much fun as we did!
